What exactly does Don Vitin Flooring® do?
There are two types of traditional sanding. The first is a light sanding where we do the
surface and put on a double coat of urethane. It takes 1 day. This is also known as screen sanding, grit pad sanding, or re-coating. The 2nd is a full sand out, where we sand away 1/16th to an 1/8th
of an inch off your floor and we put on a triple coat of urethane. It takes 1 day.
Then we seal the floor with our own brand of finish. It looks like urethane, lasts likes
urethane, and you clean it like urethane. But unlike urethane there is no odor, and it dries in one hour. So we can literally seal your floor with multiple coats in just a few hours. This is why our
floors look so good and last so long! Then you can walk right on your floor and put furniture down as soon as we are finished. Best of all, we are about half the price of our competitors.

How long does it take?
There are a few factors that influence the amount of time we spend, such as if we will be
moving and replacing your furniture, how many rooms we will be servicing, and how high the humidity is, which will add time to the curing process. But generally speaking, we can be in and out of most
jobs between four and six hours. For a more specific time, just give us a call! We'll be more than happy to discuss the details of your floors with you!

What kind of finish do you use?
We use our own brand of wood floor finish. It is a one of a kind, 21st Century proprietary
solution. There is nothing like it on the market today and cannot be purchased in any store. We have tested it against every other floor finish that is available in the market today, and nothing
compares to what we use!
How durable is your finish?
Our proprietary finish has been extensively tested for durability. Before we opened
Don Vitin Flooring®, our finish was tested with 100% customer satisfaction. We have complete confidence in our service and
finish! Best of all, we seal every floor we service with multiple coats. When a seal is achieved, moisture and dirt cannot penetrate the wood.
How long does it last?
We offer a five year warranty that our finish will not peel, crack, chip, or yellow! There are
many variables that go into determining durability, but generally speaking, with proper care, a floor finished by Don Vitin Flooring® will last for many years. Our polymer has the same properties as urethane, and so the durability is the same
as water based urethane. To increase the durability, we will apply multiple coats to seal the floor for no additional cost to you.

What can you do with pet stains?
Pet stains are common problems we see. These dark black marks often go all the way through so
if the board is turned over, the stain will still be there. Whether you use our service or sand these stains, they normally won’t come out. The industry standard in this case is to recommend board
replacement, unless you can hide the damaged sections of the floor with furniture or an area rug.
In those cases, we will just proceed with our service. And if you’d like board replacement, we
have master carpenters on staff to handle that for you. More on pet stains: Pet urine forms bacteria within 24 hours. The bacteria eats through the urethane and into the board, and continues on
through the board until it turns dark and is ruined. We can also color the floor to hide the damage as well.

My floor has different shades. Can you blend these?
Yes! Please perform this simple test. Take a cloth and wet it. Rub the cloth over a small
section of the floor. The moment the floor is wet, this is the color and tone your floor will be when our service is complete. Most floors are not stained a color. The color is achieved when a finish
is applied, which brings out the natural tones and warmth of the floor boards. The color depends on the type of wood used.
For blending purposes, please perform the wet test on an area where the different colors meet.
If the two blend when wet, then the colors will blend with our service. If not, can you live with the slight color difference? Most people won’t notice. You can also use area rugs. Are you planning
on using area rugs any way? If so, there is no reason you shouldn’t proceed with service. If someone sanded around an area rug, we can blend that out for you as well!

Can I change the color of my floor?
Yes! If you have a floor that is rich in patina, we always recommend that you allow our finish
to bring out the natural color and tone of the floor. The color is in the wood and it is brought out by the finish. To see the color of your floor, we suggest the wet test listed above.
